Fall Dinner Trio: 3 Courses of Recipes & Wine Pairings!

Fall is officially here!  As the weather cools down, it’s the perfect time to warm up with some great wines and food pairings to match.  We’ve curated a three-course Fall dinner plan with recipes paired with three Sunstone wines.  Enjoy!

All of these wines are available for purchase individually, but you can save 21% by buying all 3 together for just $99.  Enjoy!

FIRST COURSE

APPLE SALSA WITH CINNAMON CHIPS

Paired With: SUNSTONE 2020 CHARDONNAY, SBC

Apples and cinnamon!  What could be more “Fall” than that?  This light appetizer pairs perfectly with our 2020 Chardonnay as the tart apples in the salsa match the green apple notes in the wine.  Plus, the cinnamon and brown sugar in the recipe mesh well with the vanilla and spice notes in the wine. Great way to kick off an autumn dinner!

SECOND COURSE

BLACKBERRY LAVENDER PASTA

Paired With: SUNSTONE 2019 SOLEIL ROUGE

Soleil Rouge is our Super Tuscan-style red wine comprised mostly of Sangiovese.  It’s no secret that Sangiovese is a natural fit to pair with pasta.  But for Fall we’re trading in tomato sauce for blackberries and lavender.  Not only is this side dish stunningly gorgeous when served, it is a perfect complement to the blackberry and lavender notes that are prominent on the nose of the 2019 Soleil Rouge. Mangia!

THIRD COURSE

SIRLION STEAK WITH AUTUMN HASH

Paired With: SUNSTONE 2019 LIFE & SUN

There is so much to love about this main course pairing.  Our 2019 Life & Sun is a Bordeaux-style blend that is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon.  And what is the natural pairing for Cabernet Sauvignon?  Steak!  The fat in the meat loves the tannins in the wine.  Same for the blue cheese- a great match for Cabernet Sauvignon.  This recipe calls for a sirloin steak, but you could substitute a ribeye instead.  The Fall flavors come in the accompanying hash, which has walnuts, cranberries and plenty of warm spices. Enjoy!
